In Tender Terrain

2023-24

Color darkroom prints (C-prints)
30x40 cm, 74x58/61 cm and 1 image in 100x76 cm.

In Tender Terrain is as a visual journey into a microcosm of vegetal tissue. The works were created as part of a long-term, experimental process that seeks to cross-pollinate analogue and digital practices. Printer ink and freshly picked dandelions have mixed and affected one another inside a plastic pouch; as moisture dried and the plant tissue cracked and decayed, the remains were placed in the negative holder of a large-format enlarger and exposed in the darkroom.

The resulting analogue C-prints transform the tangible interaction between ink and plant into a space of abstraction—an exploration of hybridity and ambiguity. Within these images, the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic blur, opening a visual terrain where associations unfold across multiple scales. The photographs oscillate between the microscopic and the topographic, between bodily intimacy and material fragmentation, inviting a slow and sensuous way of seeing.
